November 11, 2023Saint Martin in English style The  Brescian skewer of San Martino is a pleasant custom of the British Motor Club Italia. I accepted without hesitation the invitation of Simone Chiolo, president of the Club, both to see old friends and to put my Jaguar XK140 on the road, which had been sitting in the garage for too long.

The meetings of the Registro Touring Superleggera are a guarantee, and even more so I couldn't miss the meeting in Bavaria organized by Lukas Menke, a Bavarian member of the Registry as well as a great collector in love with Italy.

At the Meano Concours d’Elegance I absolutely couldn't miss the VI Concorso d'Eleganza for Historic Cars Meano: the invitation came from my friends Alberto Camossi and Enrico Barba, and the event remembered Vincenzo Tenchini, who passed away last May.

Bianca's debut at Stella Alpina I participated in the thirty-eighth edition of Stella Alpina with a special co-driver: my grand daughter Bianca.

It's always very pleasant to partake in the British Motor Club rallies: in recent days Simone Chiolo and his team involved me in the Grand Tour of Lake Iseo, a gathering of fifty splendid English cars along the perimeter of the Sebino with a precise food and wine fil rouge.

2023 edition of Abruzzo Gran Tour and Avezzano circuit After last year's wonderful experience, in 2023 I have chosen to participate in the double Abruzzo Gran Tour-Circuito di Avezzano: the first for the possibility of getting to know an ever-changing regional territory better (this year, Teramo and its province); the second, for the pleasure of a ride which is above all an opportunity to see many friends from Italy and abroad.

La Leggenda di Bassano - Trofeo Giannino Marzotto is an historical car meeting I always participate in with great pleasure; for this year's edition, I involved my grandson Filippo, an attentive and disciplined navigator.

In the variegated universe of vintage car meetings, it is nice to find the resistant action of a "hard core" who enhances the world of historic and classic cars. This is the case of CAMEP (Club Auto Moto Epoca Perugino) and its best-known event, the Coppa della Perugina, which I attended last weekend.

I have just returned from a weekend full of culture and beauty, spent in Umbria for the Coppa della Perugina. My second presence at one of the most important Italian vintage car events confirmed my excellent memory of the pre-Covid edition. This time I left the Aston Martin DB6 in the garage, preferring the Jaguar E Type spider, more suited to the sunny weather expected at the weekend.

The Spring meeting of the Registro Internazionale Touring Superleggera took us to the Langhe area, Piedmont, last weekend. About fifty historic cars with the famous aluminum body, including my Aston Martin DB6, traveled the streets of the charming Piedmontese villages in search of the treasures of the territory: wine, cheeses, cured meats, hazelnuts, white truffles.

Il raduno dello scorso fine settimana ha raccolto nella centralissima Piazza Vittoria di Brescia 40 vetture, per poi condurle in alcuni dei luoghi più belli dell’Italia nordorientale.

L’occasione, il British Car Meeting “Lo Spiedo in Cantina” organizzato dal British Motor Club Italia, in collaborazione con l'MG Car Club d'Italia, l'Austin Healey Italian Club, il Morgan Club Italia e il 4S Morgan Drivers.

Dazzling historical cars, but also encounters with the Umbrian landscape, cultural and gastronomic beauties: it is the Coppa della Perugina, "the sweetest of historical re-enactments", to which I took part for the first time in recent days. For the occasion, I removed the Aston Martin DB6 bodywork Touring Superleggera from my private garage, an unparalleled vehicle for convenience and reliability.

Passionate about the Touring project, I have been a member of the Touring Superleggera International Registry for many years, starting immediately to take part in meetings organized by the very active president Franco Ronchi, the enthusiastic brothers Giovanni and Alberto Bianchi Anderloni and the irreplaceable secretary Alessandra Giorgetti.
