Historical Reenactment of the Campione d’Italia Racing Circuit 2025

The Event

 When and Where

  • The event took place from September 4 to 7, 2025 in Campione d’Italia, the Italian enclave overlooking Lake Lugano.
  • This was the first historical reenactment of the legendary city circuit, famously called “the smallest circuit in the world” due to its length.

The Circuit and Its History

  • The original track measured 1,116 meters.
  • It was inaugurated in 1937 with a race for the 1500cc class, won by Giovanni Rocco driving a Maserati 6CM.
  • After the war, the last official edition was held in 1946, featuring legendary drivers such as Tazio Nuvolari.
  • In 2025, this reenactment aimed to revive the myth in an innovative and sustainable way.

An Exceptional Lineup of Cars

The event showcased a simply extraordinary collection of over 100 historic vehicles spanning nearly a century, including some of the rarest and most iconic masterpieces of automotive design and engineering:

My Personal Experience Driving the 1958 Lister-Jaguar

The thrill of sharing the paddock with automotive icons

Driving my 1958 Lister-Jaguar among so many prestigious cars — from historic Bugattis to legendary Maseratis — was an honor and a unique privilege. Parking next to models like the Jaguar D-Type, Alfa Romeo P3, Maserati 26M, or Bentley Le Mans race car was a moment of deep awareness of the tradition I carry forward.

Testing the smallest circuit in the world

The Campione circuit, with its 1,116 meters, challenges the precision and agility of both driver and machine. During this reenactment, every lap was a dialogue between me and my Lister-Jaguar, navigating tight corners and respecting racing lines. Alongside me were Amilcar, Bugatti, Salmson, Austin Healey, and many other mechanical jewels — a carousel of history and power that made every meter traveled a vivid and tangible emotion.

The warmth of the crowd and the value of sharing

Amid applause, photos, and conversations with other owners and enthusiasts, I felt the greatness of this event. It was not a race but a celebration of beauty, rarity, and automotive heritage. Sharing this moment with my Lister-Jaguar was much more than a driving experience: it was being part of a collective story that unites past and present, passion and memory.
