Last weekend’s rally gathered 40 cars in Brescia ‘s central Piazza Vittoria and then drove them to some of the most beautiful places in northeastern Italy.
From the holiday vistas of the Brescian shore of Lake Garda to Riva, and then up again to Bolzano and Merano; return via Ponte di Legno and stop in Monte Isola; final awards ceremony Sunday afternoon in Brescia’s Piazza Paolo VI.
Territory in abundance, then, and typical food and wine as well; but above all, the passion expressed by the participants, who aboard their beloved classics, plus a few contemporary supercars, accepted the invitation of patron Giovanni Riva to the 21st edition of the event.
I, too, could not help myself, and once again pulled my Aston Martin DB6 out of the garage, flanked this time by the nimble Austin Healey 3000 MK1 RHD driven by a friend.
Thus I was able to spend a pleasant weekend revisiting some of the places of the heart in the company of old and new friends, like me “sick” of four-wheel collecting.
