MONZA. On the occasion of the Coppa InterEuropa, Arturo Merzario was appointed honorary member of ARACI (Associazione Rotariana Automobili Classiche Italia). After years of close collaboration with Marco Cajani, patron of the Scuderia del Portello, with which ARACI has already carried out the two Brotherhood and Peace Raids from Shanghai to Milan in 2010 and from Toronto to New York in 2011, the national fellowship board decided to appoint Arturo Merzario as an honorary member of the Fellowship.
President Vincenzo Tenchini, Secretary Cristiano Luzzago, and Treasurer Alberto Ghidini, present at the event, presented Arturo Merzario with the ARACI plaque, congratulating him for his commitment throughout his long sports career and as a testimonial of Rotarian activities.
This year too, the Scuderia del Portello participated in the Coppa Intereuropa with great commitment and deployment of resources and drivers.
In the large area reserved for the Scuderia del Portello, alongside the competition cars that participated in the various race sessions, some of the Giulias that took part in the two Brotherhood and Peace Raids were exhibited, symbolizing the union of peoples and continents and END POLIO NOW, the largest global vaccination campaign against polio, for which Rotary has carried out over two billion vaccinations worldwide, achieving the definitive eradication of polio in 2012.
