THE BRITISH MOTOR CLUB ITALIA INVITES US TO FRANCIACORTA

It’s time for the British: after last Sunday’s all-British meeting in Mantua, yesterday a large group of collectors got behind the wheel of their classic “made in UK” to reach Franciacorta, a wine growing area south of Lake Iseo . The occasion, the British Car Meeting “Lo Spiedo in Cantina” organized by the British Motor Club Italia, in collaboration with the MG Car Club of Italy, the Austin Healey Italian Club, the Morgan Club Italia and the 4S Morgan Drivers. In the late morning I reached the meeting place, the Castello Bonomi winery, aboard my Aston Martin DB6, a marvel of comfort and reliability; upon arrival, I was able to greet old and new friends and exchange opinions and comments on the beautiful cars present. A tasty dish of spit with polenta, a must in the gastronomic autumn of Brescia, enlivened the convivial lunch, hosted in the former barn of the cellar overlooking our cars parked in the farmyard. At the time of dessert, the lottery with the extraction of 1000 Miglia themed gadgets, an event scheduled in the coming weeks in Brescia, has allowed many of us to take home a souvenir of the most beautiful race in the world.
