Description

Exceptional 1995 Bentley Continental S, one of the most exclusive and rare models ever produced by the Crewe manufacturer during the 1990s.

This example is number 5 of a total production of only 39 units worldwide, making it an extremely rare and highly collectible automobile.

Of the total production:

  • 21 examples were built in right-hand drive (RHD)
  • 18 examples were built in left-hand drive (LHD)

Left-hand drive examples destined for continental Europe are therefore particularly sought after.

History and provenance

The car was delivered new in Monte Carlo, one of the most prestigious markets for high-end Bentley automobiles.

In 2006 it was imported into Italy, where it has had only three actual owners since then.

The last owner purchased the car from a well-known Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialist, who carried out a full service in 2021 at 44,348 km.

Since then the car has covered only about 1,000 km.

The presence of the Bentley Full Specification Details Report officially certifies the car’s original configuration and specifications, an essential element for historical authenticity and collector value.

The Continental S model

The Bentley Continental S was introduced in 1995 as a high-performance evolution of the Continental R, already regarded as one of the most luxurious grand tourers of its era.

The Continental R was the first Bentley with a completely unique body design since the 1960s, marking the return of the brand to producing large, hand-built luxury grand touring coupés.

The S version was produced in an extremely limited series for Bentley’s most demanding clientele seeking even higher performance and exclusivity.

Technical specifications

At the heart of the Continental S lies the legendary Bentley 6.75-litre turbocharged V8 engine, one of the longest-running engines in automotive history.

Key specifications:

  • Bentley 6.75-litre turbocharged V8
  • Displacement 6,753 cc
  • Power approx. 385–408 hp
  • Output 299 kW
  • Garrett turbocharger with liquid-cooled intercooler
  • Revised high-performance intake system
  • Automatic transmission
  • Rear-wheel drive
  • Electronically limited top speed approx. 255 km/h
  • 0–100 km/h in about 6.1 seconds

This model was the first Bentley road car to exceed the 300 kW threshold, placing it among the most powerful Bentleys of its time.

Craftsmanship and luxury

Like all Bentleys built in Crewe during this era, the Continental S was largely hand-assembled, reflecting the finest British craftsmanship.

Features include:

  • full Connolly Parchment Hide leather interior
  • Burr Walnut wood veneer
  • deep lambswool carpets
  • electrically adjustable seats
  • automatic climate control
  • extensive luxury equipment typical of Bentley’s flagship models

The Diamond Blue Silver exterior combined with Parchment Hide interior creates a timeless and elegant specification.

Rarity and collector value

With an extremely limited production and hand-built craftsmanship, the Continental S is considered one of the rarest Bentleys of the 1990s.

With only 39 units produced worldwide, this model represents one of the most exclusive Bentley coupés of the modern era.

This example, number 5 of the series, with low mileage, documented history and official Bentley certification, represents a rare opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts of the marque.
