1971 JAGUAR E TYPE 4.2 COUPE S2 with air conditioning and 3 SU carburetters
Produced in August 1970, this splendid Jaguar E Type was registered in the USA in 1971 to the first owner, Mr. Clifford Peer who kept it all his life, conserving it scrupulously and carrying out an innumerable amount of maintenance work documented by dozens of invoices preserved with obsessive care year after year.
The list of invoices addressed to Mr. Peer ends in 1997 and from that moment on they are addressed to Barbara Peer, presumably his wife or daughter.
While with Mr. Peer there are various maintenance invoices every year, with Barbara these are more rarefied and discontinuous and it is clear from the content that they are more about maintenance and conservation operations of the car than about work due to use.
After a few years the car was sold and imported into Italy. Here it underwent extensive repainting and mechanical overhaul work and upon completion of the work in 2019 it was registered.
The car is equipped with the use and maintenance manual with original case and a sheet handwritten by Mr. Peer where he summarizes the most important interventions he carried out on the car and which are documented by the invoices.
The engine was rebuilt in 1997 at 95,000 miles.
When the car was tested for registration in Italy, the odometer in miles was replaced with the odometer in kms and was adjusted with the actual distance traveled since the engine overhaul.
The car is equipped with the original air conditioning system, three SU carburettors which bring the engine power to 265 horsepower, the aluminum cooling radiator and the Moto Lita “E Type replica” steering wheel with a diameter slightly smaller than the original which makes it much more habitable.
The leather interior is still original equipment and has never been replaced.
