1970 ABARTH 1300 SCORPIONE not longer available

RARE 1970 ABARTH 1300 SCORPIONE esse esse FRANCIS LOMBARDI

1 of only 12 existing known

This very rare Abarth 1300 scorpion esse esse is the top version of this model.

In the 104S model, the suffix “S”, differently from what is often thought to identify the SS model and not the S model.

Unlike the S model, it has been completely redesigned by Abarth in the suspension, transmission and braking system.

In fact, at the front, instead of the transverse leaf spring, it has a crossbar equal to that of the Abarth 1000 radial race with independent wheel suspension, deformable wishbone, coil springs, stabilizer bar and telescopic shock absorbers.

The Abarth rear suspensions have independent wheels, semi-pendular tubular arms (not in pressed sheet metal), coil springs, stabilizer bar, telescopic shock absorbers.

The rear brakes are disc rather than drum.

The drive shafts are equipped with a double homokinetic joint.

A well-known Abarth historian has kept a register of all the Esse Esse in existence and to date only 12 have been registered.

The car is in original condition, always meticulously preserved by collectors of the brand.

Few owners including a model historian. Registered new in Rome in 1970, in 1973 it was transferred to the province.

It has the black number plates of the time and is complete with the original use and maintenance booklets.

The 70,000 km shown are believed to be the originals.
