EXCEPTIONAL 1961 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK2 TOTALLY RESTORED AND UPGRADED
Built in September 1961, Mk II Tri carb, exported to North America, Seattle, chassis H-BT7-L/15529, imported to Italy in 1998, bought by current swedish owner 2002, underwent a two year no expense spared complete restauration process, starting from a bare chassis.
The body panels when possible were sostituted in aluminium , including the 4 fenders, and the car now weighs in at 1035 kg, originally 1185 kg.
The engine was completely rebuilt using Denis Welch components, fast road/mild race, fitted with double 2” HD8 SU carburettors, pistons, head, cams and a lightened flywheel. The engine now gives out 171 CV at 5.700 RPM, compared to originally 132 CV at 4.750 RPM. A new 5 speed gearbox was fitted. A handbuilt stainless steel silencer with straight pipes was installed.
The suspension was updated using Denis Welch componenets, including anterior and posterior antiroll bars, stronger leafsprings, uprated shock absorbers and springs, the car was also fitted with rear disc brakes.
Wheels are 64 spoke wires with 185 tires and a new steeringbox with collapsible column was also fitted.
The body was sprayed British Racing Green with Old English White sides. The interior was trimmed using the best leather, colour cognac with dark green piping, and beige carpets.
Car comes complete with dark green fabric soft top, tonneu cover and plexiglass detachable side windows.
Since restauration the car has only done 9.000 km
